European Professionals Network, whose initiators are professionals with Turkish origin brought together the bureaucrats and politicians working at the EU institutions. This is the second leg of our Bureaucracy & Politics Platform`s project aiming to increase networking and cooperation among EU officials with Turkish background.
Our keynote guest was MEP Ismail ERTUG, who was elected to the European Parliament in 2009 from Germany. He is also the iniatiator of the Friends of Turkey group, which has around 76 MEPs in the European Parliament (EP). Mr. Ertug talked about the role of the Friends of Turkey group in the EP and its contribution to the better understanding of Turkey in Europe by organising various programmes like high-level conferences, seminars and study-visits to Turkey.4
